Movie 36 of 2008 (Special Halloween Marathon): Halloween

Movie Description:

The year is 1963, the night; Halloween. Police are called to 43 Lampkin Ln. only to discover that a 17 year Judith Myers had been stabbed to death, by her 6 year-old brother... After being institutionalized for 15 years, Myers breaks out just days before Halloween. No one knows nor would wish to find out what would happen on October 31st 1978, besides Myer's physciatrist Dr. Loomis. He knows Michael is coming back to Haddonfield, but by the time the town realizes it, it'll be to late for many people...

Movie Trailer:

My Opinion:

Yet another movie that I probably should've seen many years ago, but didn't. I actually DID get a bit creeped out during this movie, which surprised me. I was kinda starting to think that horror movies just didn't scare me anymore, but I guess some do still depending on the content. I enjoyed this one a lot more so then some of the older horror movies I've been watching. Definitely better than the Romero movies... LOL!!! Not sure if I'll bother watching the rest of this series or not. (Chris... should I bother???)

The original Halloween is indeed one of my all-time favorite horror flicks. It's not too gory (which I can't stand) but it's high on suspense.

Halloween III doesn't have anything to do with Michael Myers so skip that one, it's pretty dumb with some silly masks that kill people, and the jingle, "x more days till Halloween..." sticks with you long after you've watched it so that you annoy everyone around you for days on end! LOL

But #2 was suspenseful, not quite as good as the original but it picks up right where that one left off.

By the time they reached #4, I'd have to review again to remember which is which but they slowly started to go downhill and get repetitive, just like the Jason movies did. Although I actually saw the H20, 20 years later one recently as well, and I have to say that had some real suspenseful bits to it as well.
